Canadian Resort Development Association Launches New Mobile Website
(PRWEB) November 12, 2014 -- The Canadian Resort Development Association (CRDA) has launched a new mobile version of its website as the group continues to provide consumers with improved access to timeshare and vacation ownership industry information.
This latest phase in the development of the CRDA website, at http://www.crda.com/, was created through the efforts of Advanced Internet Management and allows consumers to use the site through new dynamic technology - providing genuine mobile access to the site from any smartphone or tablet.
“This new mobile version of our website gives consumers much easier access to our information and allows for a smoother process when they are looking for details about the vacation ownership industry,” said Jon Zwickel, President and CEO, CRDA.
The previous version of the website was built in a standard format, which meant that mobile users would have to pinch or zoom the page to get to the information they were looking for, with cumbersome links that made for an inconsistent user experience.
“Our new mobile site gives the consumer a much more user-friendly experience, with clearer text, easier access to links and a simpler way to retrieve the information,” added Zwickel.
CRDA’s shift to a new mobile website is in line with current trends pointing to the rapid growth of mobile use regarding e-commerce sites. Nearly thirty-seven percent of consumers who visit e-commerce sites access them on a mobile device, up from just three percent in 2010. Overall, three out of four shoppers do so online, while thirty percent of online shoppers transact on a mobile device at least as much as they do on a computer.
“The move is clearly toward mobile access of information and we are very pleased to be growing our online efforts in this direction. While actual online transactions of the timeshare products may still be in the distance, most consumers now research the product online before they consider a purchase. We are positioning ourselves to provide the type of positive vacation ownership information that can hopefully influence buying decisions,” stated Zwickel.
