CHICAGO, May 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Candice Cunningham feels like she was forced to create her own path due to not being happy about the options "handed to her". Initially she lost about $50,000 of startup funds entrusted to her by her family and it took her years to recover. Today, she is successful with five different e-commerce stores ranging from jewelry, clothing, and beauty products. With her online stores, Candice Cunningham was able to reach six figures from sales within the first year. She now invests heavily back into the young people from Chicago's most violent neighborhoods.
Candice Cunningham is the Founder of As One We Can Foundation dba The Black Ecosystem, a nonprofit she started because she feels her E-commerce background can help provide economic empowerment to poorer communities. Her program provides opportunities for teenagers to become business partners with Candice, and use the profits to fund their educational and life goals.
In detail, the nonprofit offers Entrepreneurship training classes to teenagers ages 16-19, taught by Candice Cunningham. She works with them and partners with them to teach them how to build an online business. The participants can then use their share of the profits from the business for any expense that will go towards their self-improvement.
"E-commerce / online retail has helped me and my family tremendously. It's enough room for everybody to make money online so I decided to use this business model to help young people in my community. After all, it is my love for helping others that forced me down the path of Entrepreneurship in the first place so I just want to do my part and give back", says Candice Cunningham.
"I also want to teach my students about life in general. I always emphasize how important it is to be a good person. I don't allow them to only focus on the profit potential of our collaborations, but more importantly on having good character. I feel that I can teach them a lot about financial success as well as how to be the best person they can be in every aspect of life."
When asked what got her where she is now, Candice said: MY MINDSET.
"I learned that you have to stay consistent, be strong and be discipline. You have to have the right mindset in order to persevere. While on this journey that's what I spent most of my time doing..training my mind", says Candice Cunningham. "When I'm with my students, no matter what I'm teaching them I'm constantly training them to train their mind."
