Whether you have horticulture experience, know how to build software, or just want to get involved... the cannabis industry needs you. Medical Jane wants to make this transition easier for those interested in joining the movement.

Medical Jane, LLC, a digital resource focused on pushing the cannabis industry forward, has launched the mjDirectory - a revolutionary platform designed to facilitate collaboration among industry professionals.

Understandably, 40 years of prohibition has forced the cannabis community underground. Despite this, the medical marijuana and legal cannabis industry has gained a great deal of traction in recent years; This month marked the highly-anticipated beginning of legal retail cannabis sales in Colorado.

Met by astonishing demand, the moment found consumers waiting in the snow for as long as two hours. This continued throughout the week and the Huffington Post reported that there were $5 million worth of legal retail sales in the first week alone.

Further, Medical Marijuana Business Daily reports that the commencement of the legal cannabis industry caused a 20%-80% surge in marijuana-related stocks in just one day.

Creating even more buzz for the movement, President Barack Obama recently told the New Yorker Magazine that he believes cannabis is no more dangerous than alcohol.

Sure enough, A-level professionals seem to have noticed the trend. Former Microsoft Executive Jamen Shively has already announced plans for a national brand of licensed cannabis products known as Diego Pellicer. Seibo Shen, another technology start-up veteran, has dedicated his time to building VapeXhale - a company focused on developing the next generation of vaporizers.

"Whether you have horticulture experience, know how to build software, or just want to get involved... the cannabis industry needs you," says Matthew Price, Founder and CEO of Medical Jane, LLC. "Medical Jane wants to make this transition easier for those interested in joining the movement."

According to him, the company's newly-released directory will provide a platform for people in the legal cannabis industry to display their professional profile to millions of targeted viewers. This, in addition to offering the ability to engage with followers on the Medical Jane network in the near future.

Attributes like brand recognition, collaboration, and education will be the most prominent bases for businesses to grow their respective brand. The Medical Jane team has created the mjDirectory with these goals in mind, providing businesses with an additional marketing wing in the cannabis industry.

At the time of the directory's launch, it lists more than 350 companies, 100 professionals, and 20 events. The database includes detailed information about each entity, but Mr. Price makes it clear that the mjDirectory allows for a great deal of versatility for brands also.

According to him, "each type of listing will be treated as a unique opportunity and will be given customized tools to manage and promote their movement. For instance, glass artists will be given a portfolio/gallery widget where as lawyers would list the services they offer."
