Houston Accident Attorney Speaks about Allen Parkway Crashes
Houston, TX (PRWEB) August 15, 2013 -- In the wake of numerous auto accidents that have left one dead and others injured, personal injury lawyer Gene Hagood said it’s important to obey the rules of the road while driving along Houston’s Allen Parkway.
“Drivers need to exercise caution while navigating the twists and turns of Allen Parkway. If they don’t, a serious accident can occur,” Hagood said today.
Most recently, a June 28 story on CultureMap called “Houston's most dangerous roadway: 4 injured when motorcyclist hits pedestrians near Allen Parkway” reported that a motorcycle rider lost control of his bike, hopped a curb, and crashed on the sidewalk, striking two pedestrians.
The CultureMap article says that while the accident was not fatal, the motorcycle rider, passenger, and two pedestrians were brought to an area hospital. While the motorcycle rider and passenger were in stable condition, the pedestrians sustained more serious injuries.
This motorcycle accident was not the first serious one on or near Allen Parkway in recent months, according to CultureMap. According to a May 19 article on KHOU.com called “Driver killed after Hummer flips in accident on Allen Parkway,” a Hummer was traveling well above the speed limit while approaching one of Allen Parkway’s many sharp turns. The driver of the Hummer then lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a tree before flipping over several times, according to the KHOU.com article. The driver died. A passenger in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
An experienced auto accident attorney can launch an investigation into the causes of a car accident on Allen Parkway, said Hagood. If necessary, they can interview witnesses, examine police reports and medical records, and even send an accident reconstruction team to the scene of the accident or to determine if road conditions or other factors played a role in the accident. Many of these serious accidents – involving cars, trucks, motorcycles, and even pedestrians – might be due to another driver’s reckless behavior while behind the wheel. If that’s the case, the situation might call for a lawsuit against the negligent party, Hagood said.
