World to Attend SDSU Veterans and Military Open House

World announces that its Strategic Account Manager Connie Smith will provide one-on-one counseling to students at the upcoming SDSU Military Open House on August 8.

SDSU's College of Extended Studies offers a wide variety of lifelong learning classes, seminars, and certificate programs.

Online education courses provide military personnel and their spouses with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive job market.

World Strategic Account Manager Connie Smith will be attending San Diego State University’s upcoming Veterans and Military Open House, being held on August 8 on the SDSU campus.

The event, being sponsored by the University’s College of Extended Studies, will provide military personnel and their spouses the opportunity to explore new education and career opportunities, and interview with industry professionals and the college’s military adviser.

The SDSU College of Extended Studies provides career advancement training, personal enrichment courses, and English language programs to local, national, and international students. Earlier this year, the College partnered with World to expand its online certificate course offerings, which provide students with innovative, instructor-facilitated online training in today’s in-demand career fields, including:

Business and Professional
Healthcare and Fitness
IT and Software Development
Human Resources
Skilled Trades and Industrial
Media and Design
Culinary and Hospitality
Energy and Sustainability
Management and Corporate

World’s holistic approach to online education provides students with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive job market. Upon enrolling, students are assigned a dedicated Career Coach who provides ongoing support and guidance over the course of their training, as well as job search assistance services for up to one year thereafter.

All of World’s online certificate courses are MyCAA approved for military spouses, and other military assistance programs are available. SDSU is an approved provider for Veterans Education Benefits, Military Spouse MyCAA, and the GI Bill.

Military Open House attendees are invited to visit with Ms. Smith to learn about World’s extensive catalog of online certificate courses, student services, and financial assistance programs. Students requesting additional information can also enter for the chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card. The winner will be announced immediately following the Open House.

About the SDSU Veterans and Military Open House
The Open House will be held on Friday August 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on the second floor of the SDSU Extended Studies Center located at 5250 Campanile Drive.

The event is free to military personnel and their spouses. Non-military cost is $25.
