Oklahoma's Newest Town Rings in the Holidays with Festive Home Tour
Carlton Landing, Okla (PRWEB) November 24, 2015 -- The lakeside community of Carlton Landing will usher in the holiday season with its Annual Holiday Home Tour on Saturday, December 5, 2 to 5 p.m. Residents of Carlton Landing and the general public are invited to take part in the festivities, which will include a tour of 10 to 12 Carlton Landing homes magnificently bedecked in seasonal décor. Carolers will visit the homes to inspire attendees to feel the holiday spirit. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on site to meet and visit with children.
Tour guests will see an array of home styles crafted by some of the region’s most renowned architects, including Eric Moser of Moser Design Group (Beaufort, SC), Bill Harris of Allison Ramsey Architects, Jim Hasenbeck of Studio Architecture (Oklahoma City), and Bill Dennis of Town Design (Providence, RI).
Following the home tour, guests can gather at the home of Grant and Jen Humphreys for a dinner prepared by Josh Valentine, a finalist on Bravo TV’s “Top Chef.”
“This was a very popular event last year, and we are excited to bring it back this season,” says Grant Humphreys, founder of Carlton Landing. “The Tour is a great way for families to kick off the holidays, and it offers a rare opportunity for the public to wander through some of our private residences. These are beautiful homes, and they will look even more stunning brightened with holiday decorations.”
Guests for the Holiday Home Tour are requested to make a small donation to the Carlton Landing Academy 4-H Club when they arrive at the Meeting House to receive a map of participating homes. Those who visit all homes on the tour will be entered into a drawing to win a $300 Yeti cooler.
The weekend festivities will begin Friday evening, December 4 with a free screening of the holiday film, “Elf.”
ABOUT CARLTON LANDING
Carlton Landing is Oklahoma’s newest town. Grant and Jen Humphreys, the lakeside community’s first residents, founded the community in 2011. The town occupies one of Lake Eufaula’s most picturesque areas, with sandy beaches, towering cliffs, beautiful woodlands and some of the lake’s finest water quality. Famed planner and architect Andreas Duany, known for designing the Rosemary Beach and Seaside communities on the Florida panhandle, crafted the Carlton Landing master plan with Humphreys in 2008. Inspired by the New Urbanism movement—which holds that life, work and play are all central to a community’s vitality—Carlton Landing is the first development of its kind to become a distinct municipality. The master plan includes schools, a waterfront chapel, Nature Center, community parks, trails, and a town center with restaurants and shops. Plans call for more than 3,000 homes and a generational development timeline. For more information, visit http://www.carltonlanding.com.
