Carmen entered the field of real estate after working as a Human Resources professional. She originally imagined that a shift into real estate would offer a more flexible schedule.
“I thought I would be working in this profession part time… I quickly learned that in order to fulfill client demands, I needed to work whenever the client needed me.”
Soon the scheduling needs of Carmen’s clients became her top priority. “It is just a good business practice to value people’s time… Sometimes it takes a weekend to find the best property and there are times that it takes much longer. The goal is to ensure that my clients have received 100% of my time and attention in making a decision that will make them feel comfortable.”
Five Star Awards are given based on client satisfaction. In Carmen’s words, “It means that I am doing something right. This is a tough business… where people have options and they can choose anyone to represent them… It is a nice feeling to be recognized in my profession and I do not take it for granted.”

Although her transition from Human Resources to real estate may not have brought Carmen the flexible schedule she first envisioned, it seems clear that she is pleased with her career change. “This does not feel like a job to me because it is so much fun.”
