Panthers Players That Might Amaze: 2013 Panthers Tickets Are Available Now at http://www.Panthers-Tickets.org, Powered by InsideTrackTickets.com
Charlotte, North Carolina (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- Just like any other NFL team, the Carolina Panthers this year will have players that will stick out and surprise the fans. With a new front office in charge, head coach Ron Rivera will have to get a good start to the season with some wins to prove the Panthers are going to be good competition in 2013. The appearance of some new and fresh talent will be a good way to add spark to their 2013 campaign. Listed below are some of those players who just might be that spark the team needs this year.
Fifth round draft pick A.J. Klein will add a lot of talent to the Panthers already high quality roster of linebackers. Among those talents include 2012 first round pick Luke Kuechly. New GM David Gettleman must have viewed Klein as too high a value to pass up, even though there was no desperate need for another linebacker. Klein, in his senior year of college, had 1,117 tackles and was named to the coaches All-Big 12 team. He proved himself in college to be a smart player with good instincts.
Another hopeful top performer of 2013 is David Gettis. The Panthers already have their top two wide receiver targets, but Gettis will be battling it out with others to be a target as well. If healthy, he should have no problem standing out between Armanti Edwards and Joe Adams. However, Gettis has not had a reception since 2010 due to so many injuries limiting him on the field. Since he has been in the league long enough and has some experience, at 6’3” and 200 pounds he should be a shoe in to start as a receiver.
Depsite being a part of two national championship teams at Alabama, safety Robert Lester went undrafted in the 2013 draft, but then signed as a free agent with the Panthers. He is a great player, but there are some concerns when it comes to his speed. It has been reported that Lester has impressed the coaching staff during minicamp, and that may give him some drive going into the season. He could shock us all and be exactly what the Panthers need to win.
As of now, Geoff Hangartner is expected to start the season at right guard for Carolina. That can all change though, as fourth round pick Edmund Kugbila has the ability to make it a battle for the position. Although he missed minicamp due to injury, Rivera thinks Kugbila will be able to compete for the spot during training camp. Hangartner is 31, which may give the coaching staff a little push to start Kugbila instead, who is 22 years old.
