Sanctri Celebrates the Life and Voice of Radio Pioneer Casey Kasem
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 16, 2014 -- Sanctri announced today the creation of a Sanctri, or memorial page, to celebrate the life and work of Casey Kasem, who died yesterday, 6/15/14, at age 82.
For generations of Americans, Casey Kasem was the voice on the radio bringing them “America’s Top 40” every week for nearly 20 years. He was also the voice of Shaggy on the cartoon “Scooby Doo.” Kasem received a star on the famous “Hollywood Walk of Fame” in 1981 and in 1992 he became the youngest inductee into the “National Radio Hall of Fame.” In 1997 Kasem was honored with Billboard magazine’s first ever “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Casey has been off the radio for years, as a result of both Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. Although we will always have old episodes of Scooby Doo to watch, the passing of Casey Kasem represents a loss for his innumerable fans. His Sanctri on Facebook offers anyone the opportunity to share their feelings with other fans, friends and loved ones. In fact, the very act of sharing strong emotions has been proven to have therapeutic value, even when the relationship is between celebrity and fan.
The public is invited to contribute to Casey Kasem’s memorial, using the free Sanctri app on Facebook. By joining the community and adding videos, stories, and photos, fans themselves will weave the story of what Casey Kasem meant to the world. And by making a donation in his memory, we can help his name, and the voice that brought us all so much joy, live on.
