GIRARD, Ohio, Feb. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pizza and beer—it's a winning combination. That's why this year's Slice of the Valley Pizza Challenge is adding a new category to its competition: beer. You could get it at the event in previous years, of course, but this time attendees have the chance to vote for their favorite local beer in addition to their favorite local pizza shop.
15 pizza shops and 8 breweries will compete for the People's Choice and Judges' Choice awards at the Metroplex Expo Center on March 16th. The event is open to all ages and will feature several guest appearances, live musical entertainment, a Chinese raffle, and dessert offerings from Mocha House of Warren. This year's judges are Cleveland Browns greats Greg Pruitt and Kevin Mack, wrestling legend Preston Steele, Hot 101's Justine Thomas, WKBN anchor Stan Boney, the Youngstown Vindicator's Guy D'Astolfo, the Tribune Chronicle's Andy Gray, and The Ohio Players keyboardist Billy Beck.
Slice of the Valley offers Mahoning Valley residents a fun opportunity to taste and vote on the best pizza and beer in the area. Major sponsors include the Eastwood Mall, Ohio Commerce Center, and Seal Master, and proceeds will go to Someplace Safe, Habitat for Humanity–Trumbull County, and the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County. Tickets and additional information are available at sliceofthevalley.com
