Team 4 Wheel Parts Driver Greg Adler Closes Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Season on the Podium
Compton, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2014 -- The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series came home to Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park for Championship Weekend Oct. 24-25. Greg Adler brought his Team 4 Wheel Parts Ford to the checkered flag for his fifth podium visit of the season as he continued his climb up the division standings.
Arriving in Lake Elsinore with a demanding schedule which included Rounds 14 and 15 as well as the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup, Adler had his work cut out for him. A solid Pro 4 qualifying effort put him on the front row for Friday evening’s opening salvo. A few laps into the race, a slight miscalculation put the truck up on two wheels, but Adler battled back into contention, just missing the podium with a fourth place finish.
“After qualifying, we knew we were fast,” said a disappointed Adler after the dust had settled later Friday night. “We had a good run but these guys are the best of the best – one mistake and you’re back in the pack. With a couple more laps I think we could have landed on the box, but we’re going to set our sights on tomorrow and get it done”.
In Saturday’s Pro 4 matinee, Adler began with a mid-pack starting position and took just a few short laps to project himself into second place on the track. With the battle for third raging behind him, Adler brought the #10 Pro Comp supported Ford to the checkered flag and a second place finish.
“Everyone was racing hard and, with those fast guys behind us, there was no letting up – but we distanced ourselves from the pack and put down some fast laps,” said Adler. “It’s great for us to finish the season up on the box for everyone who works so hard to make us competitive, along with our partners and sponsors who support this program”.
Adler rounded out his weekend with a pair of top 10 results in Pro 2 competition and with 27 starters taking the green flag for Saturday evening’s Lucas Oil Challenge Cup; he was one of just 12 trucks remaining on the lead lap. Adler, although hampered by tire damage from contact while forging his way through the chaos in the 26-minute slugfest, drove to a seventh place finish.
