The Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) certification requires many years of experience and over 100 hours of education. To achieve a PCAM certification, one must complete many different prerequisites, including five years of direct community association management experience. The applicant working to gain the PCAM designation must have completed and passed the Certified Manager of Community Association (CMCA) certification and must pass six additional courses of study. Once these certifications are met, the applicant must complete and pass an intensive narrative case study on an actual community association.
