Cedarwood Development Completes Construction of Self Storage Facility in Clearwater, Florida

Fairlawn, Ohio-based Cedarwood Development, an affiliate of Cedarwood Companies, announced that it has completed construction of a 585 unit, 60,000-square-foot self storage facility located at 1000 South Myrtle Avenue in Clearwater, Florida. The facility will be managed by Westport Properties, Inc., a premier owner/operator of self storage facilities nationally which has over ten million rentable square feet under the US Storage Centers brand. This is the first facility in Clearwater, Florida for Cedarwood Development and US Storage Centers.

“We are excited to open our newest project in Clearwater and expand the US Storage brand to the market,” said Brian Grassa, Director of Development with Cedarwood. “This facility continues our company philosophy of best in class service in a quality customer-oriented project.”

Ideally located just south of downtown Clearwater in a heavily populated residential area, this facility features climate-controlled units, passenger elevators, moving carts and drive up units.

“We are excited to add this location to our third-party portfolio,” said Charles Byerly, CEO of Westport Properties, which is the parent company that owns and operates the US Storage Centers brand. “This is the second property we’re managing for Cedarwood. They’ve been a great group to work with and we look forward to helping them grow their self storage portfolio and our partnership.”
