Left-handers are a large and misunderstood minority, accounting for 10-15% of the population. The world is arranged for right-handers, causing lefties much inconvenience, and sometimes difficulty.
For reasons not fully understood, left-handers excel in many culturally and politically important fields. A disproportionate number of the world's political leaders are lefties, including 5 out of the last seven US Presidents. Barack Obama is left-handed. Lefties are often found among the most well-known artists and creative people.
In the sports world, lefties are often terrific at tennis and baseball, with 25% of pro baseball players being southpaws.
Thelefthandstore.com has the world's leading selection of products for left-handers. Friends of lefties, teachers, workshops and offices with left-handed staff, and especially lefties themselves may shop on-line or at the retail stores on PIer 39 in San Francisco, or in the Lefty's stores in Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World, or Old Town Kissimmee in Florida.
Celebrate Left-Handers' Day by joining the games and contests at Lefty's Facebook site or one of the 3 retail stores.
