CenterVue’s launch two new products, the Eidon and Compass, at the ESCRS in London

Leading eye care diagnostic specialists, CenterVue, launched the latest additions to its product portfolio, the Eidon and Compass, at this year’s European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Congress (ESCRS).
The Eidon is the World’s first true colour, wide-field confocal scanner. The 2-in-1 device can be used for diagnosis and screening and has a fully-automated operation system with an intuitive tablet design that offers true colour, red-free and infrared red imaging.
Boasting a 60° single field to 110° field retinal image, the Eidon utilises infrared light which can be used to detect early stages of AMD. Thanks to its confocal technology, the Eidon offers high-resolution and contrast capabilities to image the fundus through cataracts and media opacities, with no optic disc bleaching.
The Compass is the first device on the market that combines visual field measurements with confocal colour imaging of the fundus, optic disc including the retinal nerve fibre layer whilst incorporating the standard 24-2 glaucoma grid test.
The device uses two light sources; infrared (850nm) and white light (LEDS from 440-650nm) over a 60° wide-field fundus image. The infrared light source is used for continuous retinal imaging at high-frequency (>25Hz) and a wide-band of visible light source is used for achieving a true colour image of the retina. The fixation in the Compass is monitored using a 25Hz eye-tracker, allowing retinal movement over the whole examination area and high-precision during glaucoma progression analysis.
