Lombard Family Lawyer Chantelle Porter Named 30th President of DAWL
Lombard, Illinois (PRWEB) July 12, 2013 -- Attorney Chantelle Porter, senior associate at A. Traub & Associates, was recognized at the June DuPage Association of Women Lawyers (DAWL) annual installation banquet. Elected base on her leadership abilities, advocacy, and professionalism, Ms. Porter precedes her new position as president serving as a DAWL Board of Directors member third, second, and first vice president.
In 2008, Porter was hired by Angel Traub as an associate attorney for A. Traub & Associates. Traub’s former DAWL presidency and passion for the organization drew Porter to become an active member.
DAWL, founded in 1980 by the Honorable Helen C. Kinney, promotes women in law, continuing education, and philanthropic efforts to strengthen the DuPage County legal community. As the 30th president of the group, Porter will continue to provide county citizens and legal professionals with new ways to connect with one another through her leadership and perfectionism.
Chantelle Porter is a graduate of The Ohio State University and DePaul University College of Law. Since 2006, she has practiced in the areas of family law, juvenile criminal defense, DCFS abuse and neglect, domestic violence, orders of protection, landlord/tenant law, and civil litigation defense.
The Lombard family lawyer is a former supervisor of the DuPage County Public Defender’s Office Juvenile Division where she represented juveniles on criminal matters and parents/children on abuse, neglect, and dependency issues.
Prior to this position, she worked with the Cook County Public Guardian as an attorney and Guardian ad litem. In addition to DAWL, Porter has been an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association, serving on their Board of Directors.
With her continued involvement in her legal community and flawless representation of family law advocacy, Chantelle Porter will lead the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers into a new year.
