“Hopefully, people will enjoy the stories and see them as original,” Lapine says, “and will also view the stories as intriguing and thought provoking.”

Author Charles Lapine has gathered together a few short stories in the new anthology, “Novelty, Bloom, and Shine” (published by Trafford Publishing).

Lapine explores different settings in this collection, including the heart of a forest, the depths of outer space and locations from the past, present and future. Lapine’s stories may be short, but he hopes that readers will continue to think of them long after they finish his book.

“Hopefully, people will enjoy the stories and see them as original,” Lapine says, “and will also view the stories as intriguing and thought provoking.”

An excerpt from “Novelty, Bloom, and Shine”:

“Jamie’s reflection in the mirror had barely changed; she looked almost exactly the same as she did over thirty years ago. She wasn’t a nubile twenty-four-year-old, but she looked like an attractive thirty-one-year-old, which was not even close to her real age of fifty-nine, but then, that’s what the pill had promised.”
