Charlotte, NC based digital marketing agency Atypic, won Best of Web at the 2016 American Advertising Awards. The agency won Best of Web for the The Cam Newton Foundation website, which serves as Cam Newton's personal website of current happenings and achievements as well as his charitable platform supporting initiatives, programs and events in the Charlotte and Atlanta communities.

A full list of awards Atypic received include:

Best of Web (The Cam Newton Foundation)

Gold Award for “Online / Interactive Consumer Website” (The Cam Newton Foundation)

Gold Award for “Elements of Advertising: Art Direction (Cooke & Helms)

Silver Award for “Online / Interactive Microsite” (The Cam Newton Foundation)

AAF Charlotte's website describes the annual awards as a three-tier national competition that recognizes and rewards the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. In the first tier, local entrants compete to win ADDY Awards. At the second tier, local winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District winners advance to compete for a national ADDY Award.

The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence. The three-tier national competition is conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), advertising’s largest industry association and the only one to represent the interests of all facets of advertising: advertisers, agencies, suppliers and media. The AAF is based in Washington, D.C. and has more than 40,000 members through 200 local advertising clubs.
