New Board Members Selected at 59th Annual Membership Meeting
Tallahassee, FL (PRWEB) May 30, 2014 -- The Florida State University Credit Union held its 59th annual membership meeting Thursday, April 24th at the credit union's main office located at 2806 Sharer Road in Tallahassee, FL. A satellite meeting was held on the same day/time at the Elk's Lodge in Perry, FL.
The credit union’s annual meetings provide the perfect forum for members to obtain specific financial information about their credit union’s previous year performance and learn more about the strategy proposed going into the current year.
All members were invited to attend, regardless of their amount on deposit with the credit union. Over 100 members were in attendance. Refreshments were served, and all attendees were given a large umbrella as a “thank you” for coming. Door prizes were also awarded at the event's conclusion.
Different from banks that have stockholders, credit union members are eligible to run for its volunteer board aimed at creating a better environment for the membership as a whole.
The credit union's Nominating Committee revised a list of qualified candidates and officially nominated Bill Agner, Bill Brynes, Robin Haggins and David Sagaser (all incumbents) to each serve one three-year term on the Board of Directors. Since no additional nominations had been received via petition and no nominations were received from the floor, in accordance with the by-laws, the slate of officers nominated were officially elected by acclamation.
