WILMINGTON, Del., Aug. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Chelsea Tavern, a gastropub where comfort meets concept, is currently expanding by transforming an existing alleyway into a new indoor/outdoor seating area. This expansion, called "The Terrace," will add sixty new seats to the revered establishment.
"This new dining area will give us something that no one else downtown has presently. Everyone loves to dine al fresco and Wilmingtonians are no different. This intimate space will definitely help solidify DownTown Wilmington as a dining destination!" said Joseph Van Horn, owner of Chelsea Tavern.
The expanded area also features wrought iron gates opening on either side of the alleyway, showing off beautiful planters. "This adds to the already existing comfy ambience," noted Van Horn. "It's a great place to sit back and enjoy the outdoors and people watch."
Chelsea Tavern is also right across from the Grand Opera House, and the converted alleyway was once a thoroughfare for many parking and heading to the theatre. Additionally, the Playhouse at Rodney Square is located in the Hotel DuPont located 1.5 blocks north, and the Queen Theater, run by LIVE Nation, is three blocks south.
"The Terrace will now be a cool indoor/outdoor seating area that patrons are sure to enjoy," concluded Van Horn.
