It’s so rare to see kids stepping up and taking action to make their world a better place...Windy City Hoops is a meaningful alternative to gangs and violence on the streets of Chicago and we’re happy to help...
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 10, 2016
The caring team at Jusino Insurance Services launches another charity campaign as part of their ongoing community involvement program in the Chicago metro area. Turning their efforts to raising awareness of the impact of gun violence, they are partnering with Windy City Hoops as part of a grassroots community project begun by 3 local students. Donations to this remarkable group are now being accepted at: https://www.gofundme.com/q3whnwu8.
Three remarkable young men, Drew Donohue, Jalen Harris and Cole Tansey, were becoming more and more disturbed by the shootings they saw occurring among local kids, and the resulting devastation which occurred with family and friends. They decided to see if they could help by introducing schools and communities to a powerful documentary, ‘For the Love of Mom’, and distributing flyers on gangs and gun violence. But they have kept going. By selling ‘Baskets Not Bullets’ t-shirts and wristbands, they hope to raise awareness and funds for Windy City Hoops, a sports mentorship program under the auspices of the Chicago Parks District, which offers kids positive alternatives to being on the streets. These exceptional boys believe that together, kids can find solutions which will help to keep other kids safe.
“This cause is very dear to my team,” stated Lisa Jusino, owner of Jusino Insurance Services. “It’s so rare to see kids stepping up and taking action to make their world a better place – they have truly inspired us. Windy City Hoops is a meaningful alternative to gangs and violence on the streets of Chicago and we’re happy to help Drew, Jalen and Cole’s efforts on their behalf.”
Jusino Insurance has mobilized their own vast network of personal and professional contacts to help spread the word about the campaign for Windy City Hoops. The agency’s team has set a fundraising goal of $500, and has pledged to donate $10 for each and every recommendation they receive for an insurance quote, with no purchase necessary, making so easy for everyone to help.
