The Music Garage and Urban Ideas, LLP Announce the Launch of Chicago Creed, a New Chicago-Based Music Label
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) March 05, 2015 -- Urban Ideas, LLP - a Chicago consulting firm specializing in creative arts consultancy, music distribution, and e-book distribution – and The Music Garage – Chicago’s premier rehearsal studio and music production complex - have joined forces to create Chicago Creed, a membership-based platform for packaging, placing, and promoting local artists.
"We’ve transformed our business from a simple imprint to a multi-imprint operation that’s focused on building strong artist brands,” says Joan Sullivan, Senior Partner with Urban Ideas. “When we looked at our labels, we realized that we needed a physical plant, and this led us to discussions with The Music Garage. The result is an extraordinary combination of skills, resources, and passions, and Chicago Creed will join our other three imprints Kingdom Records, Indie Chart Music, and Urban Creed.”
Chicago Creed will work with area artists to build fans and launch records. The company will establish a fee structure by which it can operate to efficiently bring new artists to market and serve as Chicago’s premier label, marketing, and promotions service for local music talent.
"We have deep roots in the music community, and we’ve wanted to do more for the artists who use our facilities,” says Joe Lardieri, CEO of The Music Garage. “We were fortunate to meet the Urban Ideas group at a networking event. A few meetings later, we crafted a great partnership and formula. The idea is simple: We provide the corporate and sales structure for indie artists and become the conduit through which greater institutional support comes into the indie space.”
Chicago Creed will offer a variety of distribution and marketing support services to its members, including:
- Strategy and brand development.
- Participation in branded performance events, including in-house showcases and open mics.
- Participation in onsite outdoor networking and performance events.
- Access to music and merchandising fulfillment services.
- Participation in a planned music streaming service.
- Receiving onsite education and business development seminars.
- Participation in a new talent booking service.
Chicago Creed will be seeking to create partnerships with area businesses for strategic opportunities in music advertising and promotion. The company will also look to partner with area colleges and universities to promote the cultural and entertainment importance of Chicago’s indie music scene.
