ChickenGuard to Address Dramatic Rise in Chicken Keeping at SuperZoo
LAS VEGAS (PRWEB) August 07, 2019 -- ChickenGuard, producers of the world’s most innovative automatic chicken coop door opener featuring the world’s first self-locking coop-door kit, will re-introduce their Classic Door Kit - back by popular demand and a welcome expansion to their Door Kit models - at this year’s SuperZoo later this month.
The product is now available with either a self-locking door kit, designed to keep predators away from chickens, or a classic door kit, which is aluminum and designed with English Oak runners that significantly reduces the snagging that can occur when trying to open a coop.
Back to discuss the latest in chicken keeping and wearing their quacky ChickenGuard hats, the company will be exhibiting at Booth 6061 at SuperZoo, Pet Retail’s Favorite Show, which is being held August 20-22 at Mandalay Bay.
According to the American Pet Products Association (APPA), there are more than 10 million households in the U.S. raising chickens. That’s eight percent of the population and represents the country’s fourth most popular pet. Who knew?
As a result, SuperZoo will now feature its first ever Poultry Zone, representing eight poultry brands. Though fish have had an Aquatic Zone at the show for years, this is the year of the chicken at SuperZoo, even though China says it’s now “the Year of the Pig.”
Martin Hodson, ChickenGuard’s head of sales and marketing, will speak on Wednesday, the 21st at 3 p.m. on “The Boom in Backyard Chicken Keeping.”
Market estimates only two years ago had chicken ownership at 5.5% of the population. Farm and pet stores are missing out if they haven’t upped their range of chicken products – from consumable feeds to tasty treats, automatic coop door openers, and even diapers. If a home has chickens, then chances are they also have other pets too.
ChickenGuard’s innovations give chicken keepers an unprecedented amount of freedom in their daily lives. Chicken keepers no longer have to dash home at dusk to close the coop and to keep their hens safe from predators, and they can even sleep in later as the ChickenGuard door opens automatically in the morning. ChickenGuard is now leading the charge to keep chickens safe.
Now, keeping a small flock or just one or two hens as pets is increasing. The one real pull that entices newbies into keeping chickens for the first time is the eggs. There is an ever growing trend for organic and free range produce, to know the source of our food (“farm to fork”) and for local produce that doesn’t have the miles clocked up on it. Freshness and localness provide quality, and the eggs aren’t standardized and they have a fuller flavor.
Chicken keeping provides an alternative to the mass produced products and food that is part of 21st century living. Just keeping one or two hens provides the opportunity to have your own eggs daily. And, of course, they are not just any eggs, but your own fresh, free range eggs from your own hens.
ChickenGuard can be easily fitted to almost any hen coop. It is made lovingly in a British factory and it comes with a peace of mind, three-year warranty, though it lasts a lot longer. It has almost 120,000 units in use worldwide.
