The Betty Skinner Insurance Agency, a family operated insurance and financial planning firm with offices serving communities throughout the Seattle metropolitan area, is initiating a charity event to raise funds for the Eastside Baby Corner organization.

Originally founded in 1990 by Karen Ridlon, EBC began as a one-woman operation. Today, EBC has grown to provide nearly $5 million in baby essentials annually to underprivileged families in western Washington. EBC ensures that local mothers in need have access to food, beds, baby clothing, diapers, and safety equipment to keep their children safe, fed, and secure.

“Babies are the future of our community, and we hope everyone will come out to help us support the efforts of Eastside Baby Corner as they provide baby supplies to distressed mothers in our region,” says Betty Skinner, manager and owner of the Betty Skinner Insurance Agency.

To help gather support for the Eastside Baby Corner charity drive, Skinner and her team are drawing audiences from social media and connecting with local families over an email update system. The Skinner team also plans to publish an article featuring the charity event in the upcoming edition of “Our Hometown,” a community interest webzine hosted by the agency: http://www.bettyskinnerinsurance.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_39.

EBC is the third Seattle area charity supported by Skinner Insurance since April of this year. As recent entrants into the national “Agents of Change” community involvement campaign, the Betty Skinner Insurance Agency has committed to working with at least one new local charity every other month.
