Shacklett Insurance Team Joins Local Chapter of Big Brother Big Sister Organization to Initiate Joint Charity Effort to Benefit Children in San Antonio
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) July 27, 2015 -- Continuing their ongoing community improvement campaign, Shacklett Insurance Team, a locally owned insurance firm with offices serving the greater San Antonio area, is launching a joint charity effort with the South Texas chapter of the Big Brother Big Sister Organization.
The Big Brother Big Sister Organization of South Texas is committed to serving underprivileged and poverty-stricken children in San Antonio and the surrounding communities. Many of these children have single parent families, and recent research provided by BBBS reveals that young adults from such families are far more likely to struggle with substandard academic results.
Big Brother Big Sister of South Texas works to break this cycle with a mentorship program that utilizes volunteer adults from the local community. These mentors provide children with support, encouragement, and guidance to improve educational outcomes and sharpen social skills. Children who participate in Big Brother Big Sister programs are more likely to stay in school and graduate, avoid substance use or abuse, and enjoy an improved self-image that will lead to healthier relationships.
