Chile is Getting a Little Greener; Frog™ Leaps Forward and Expands Electric Micro-mobility Operations to Concepcion
Chile's second largest city brings first shared micro-mobility solution to area, works with Frog to map out a plan to build corporate partnerships for daily commuters
AUSTIN, Texas, May 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Less than a month after launching in Valdivia, Frog is continuing its global mission of helping create a more connected, sustainable, and cleaner planet by expanding its operations to a second city in Chile today: Concepcion.
As the first micro-mobility rideshare solution to launch in Concepcion, Frog is partnering with the City to deploy 100 commercial-grade electric scooters, proving that interest in and demand for sustainable transportation options are high in Chile.
"We are bringing Frog scooters to our city to reinforce that our region's capital is ready to embrace planet-friendly transportation alternatives," said Mayor Alvaro Ortiz. "Together with Frog, we are working on having rideshare scooters readily available in key locations as well as forging strategic corporate partnerships in the area to make Frog an option for daily work commutes."
Climate change, rapid urbanization, and population growth continue to challenge our world's cities. Frog is on a mission to help communities Leap Forward™ toward a sustainable future by creating a higher standard for shared micro-mobility solutions with modes of transportation that are turnkey, heavy duty, and reliable.
"As the first shared micro-mobility solution to launch in Concepcion, we applaud the City's forward-looking vision to bring cleaner transportation solutions to the region," said Mark Adams, chairman and co-founder of Austin-based Frog. "After seeing the out-of-the-gate early successes in Valdivia last month, we are confident residents in Chile's second largest city will choose our eco-friendly scooters as an affordable, readily available mobility option for daily work commutes, running errands, and even for leisure time on the weekends."
The vertically-integrated global mobility solutions company launched last month by testing its more stable, durable, and dependable fleets of Frogs in Valdivia where it partnered with Mayor Omar Sabat who hopes Frog will help his city improve connectivity challenges in an eco-friendly way.
"We are very pleased with the launch of Frog to help us improve connectivity from one point to another," said Sabat. "As the first city outside Santiago with this type of sustainable transportation, we are proud to raise awareness that Chile is more than just Santiago and that there is a need to incorporate environmentally-friendly technology and mobility options into cities countrywide."
Both cities are committed to launching educational campaigns on use and safety, working in partnership with Frog. The company plans to have a presence in four cities in Chile by the end of the year, working with local territory managers and teams to care for its fleets of scooters.
Committed to doing its part for the local communities it serves as well as for the environment, Frog plans to donate one percent of its net profits to a local sustainability-focused non-profit in Chile and in all countries where it operates.
