Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick LTD is pleased to announce the recipient of our $1500 scholarship for veterans.
PROVIDENCE, R.I., April 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick LTD of Providence, R.I., has awarded its 2018 Law School Scholarship for Veterans to Mr. Chris Moon, 29, U.S. Army Captain and Class of 2021 at the UC Berkeley School of Law in California. The scholarship is in the amount of $1,500.
Mr. Moon immigrated to San Francisco with his family from South Korea at 8 years old. He became a U.S. citizen as a high school freshman and since then has dedicated himself to the country that he says has given him and his family so much.
The 2011 West Point graduate served for five years and five months, separating from the military in September of 2016. He has since earned an M.B.A. from the Columbia Business School before beginning his pursuit of a law degree.
Mr. Moon said the Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick scholarship was one of the few veterans-focused scholarships for law students.
The scholarship is available to any veteran who is attending or has been accepted to an accredited law school. It is part of the firm's ongoing commitment to those who served. Mr. Moon is the quintessence of someone who goes above and beyond to help others. He received two Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medals. He has estimated that he spent over 500 hours volunteering throughout his military service in each community where he was stationed. He has coached soccer, built houses with Habitat for Humanity, taught math and English to local children, and served in church missions in Cambodia and Peru.
