Hollywood Star Chase Masterson and Choices Recovery Discuss Substance Abuse and Treatment at 2015 Oscars
Hollywood, California (PRWEB) March 03, 2015 -- On February 21st, the rooftop of the Beverly Hilton was transformed into the fabulous EcoLuxe Lounge, a day-long event that features a gathering of providers of ecologically sustainable and socially conscious products and services. Organized by Debbie Durkin and Durkin Entertainment, Los Angeles’ leading sustainable product TV and film placement producer, the EcoLuxe Lounge saw many notable attendees. Among them was Chase Masterson, the star of roles on General Hospital, The Flash, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and many, many others.
On a stage set by Choices Recovery and Durkin Entertainment, Choices Recovery founder Per Wickstrom asked Chase to sit with him and discuss the problems surrounding substance abuse that face the world today and the possible solutions to those problems. “I was honored and grateful to have the opportunity to speak with Chase Masterson at the EcoLuxe Lounge,” commented Wickstrom. “Her candid and heartfelt discussion of not only the big picture of addiction but also how this problem has affected her own life was truly something special, and I am glad that Choices Recovery was able to be a part of it.”
Chase Masterson’s Story of Recovery
Masterson shared stories of mentoring at-risk teens, helping close friends and even her own personal victory over substance abuse almost eight years ago. “I’m absolutely fine and free to admit it, I haven’t had a drink in almost eight years, and I don’t have any desire to ever again,” she told Per openly. “At some point, almost everyone goes through some kind of addiction. Sometimes it’s a work addiction, sometimes it’s a life threatening addiction. There’s no shame in admitting it. There’s no shame in going to a place that can help you.”
Chase Masterson was just one of many Hollywood notables to share the stage with Per Wickstrom, who stated “I can’t express how grateful we are that so many members of the entertainment industry were willing to help us get our message of healthy, substance-free living across to so many people.”
