FreedomVoice, one of the largest US providers of cloud-based VoIP phone systems, today announced the hiring of Chris Sterbenc as vice president of sales. The seasoned technology industry veteran has joined FreedomVoice to oversee its sales channel expansion as it embarks on the next phase of its growth strategy.

Sterbenc joins FreedomVoice from Axcient, Inc., where, as the company’s vice president of sales, he built a go-to-market strategy that resulted in dramatic growth of the channel, customers and revenue for the cloud-based backup provider. Prior to that, Sterbenc was vice president of sales at Untangle, Inc., and vice president of worldwide partner programs at Apparent Networks, Inc. He has also held executive sales and marketing positions with Microsoft Corporation and Rainmaker Systems. In the last three years, Sterbenc was named to the MSPmentor 250 and SMB 150 lists of influential executives and received the CRN 5-Star Award for World-class Partner Programs.
"I am delighted to join FreedomVoice, a dynamic team dedicated to bringing reliable and high-margin cloud-hosted VoIP phone systems to the resellers and MSPs that service the booming small and medium business market,” said Sterbenc. "The innovative approaches that FreedomVoice has used over the years, coupled with its passion to make its channel partners successful will be a winning combination for years to come."
