If someone reads it and they have a similar experience, however small, it will give them hope, strength and courage and bring family and friends closer together.

After her husband took a life-changing fall and suffered head trauma, author Christine Russell was inspired to write her 2012 book, “The Three Birds” (published by Trafford Publishing), a story that follows her family’s journey to dealing with and treating the consequences of her husband’s injury. This year, Russell’s book undergoes a new marketing push to further publicize its availability.
“The Three Birds” is a true story containing themes of drama, heartache, willpower and love. Russell recounts, in intricate detail, the events of her husband’s injury and the effects it had on her emotional, physical and mental well-being.
“The book shows how an ordinary man’s life can change within three hours,” Russell says. “If someone reads it and they have a similar experience, however small, it will give them hope, strength and courage and bring family and friends closer together.”
An excerpt from “The Three Birds”:
“It is strange what kinds of things go through your mind in a stressful situation. I was trying to remember what Derek had said he wanted at his funeral, and I just could not think of the songs he wanted played—not hymns but Elvis songs. He said he did not want a morbid funeral. I knew he said he wanted ‘Space Oddessy’ played as he came through the doors of the crematorium, and then during the service ‘The Wonder of You’ and ‘Let It Be Me’. Then, ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ played as the coffin was being lowered as the closing vamp.”
