U.S. Champions Eastlake Little League to be Welcomed Home to Chula Vista with Celebration at Sleep Train Amphitheatre Thursday, August 29
Chula Vista, CA (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- The City of Chula Vista will welcome the Eastlake Little League All-Stars, winners of the Little League World Series U.S. Championship, with a homecoming celebration this Thursday, August 29, at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre, 2050 Entertainment Circle (off Main Street in Chula Vista).
The community celebration is free and open to the public.
- Parking lots open at 5 p.m.
- Gates open at 6 p.m. kicking off a rally and celebration with music and entertainment from DJ C-Riz and Channel 93.3’s Frankie V, the San Diego Padres Pad Squad and Swingin’ Friar celebrating with guests, a marching band and cheerleaders entertaining the crowd.
- Fans will welcome the team at 7 p.m. with a special appearance by National Baseball Hall of Famer and San Diego Padre, Tony Gwynn.
- Emcee for the event is Scott Kaplan from the Scott and BR show at Mighty 1090.
Parking is free. Tailgating is not allowed at this event. Sleep Train Amphitheatre concessions will be open and official Eastlake Little League merchandise will be available for purchase inside the venue. No alcohol will be served or allowed to be brought in during this fun, team-focused event.
"We are thrilled to share in the excitement and celebrate the achievement of Eastlake Little League as they bring home the U.S. championship trophy," said Chula Vista Mayor Cheryl Cox. "All Chula Vista and our surrounding communities are proud of this team and its coaches and look forward to honoring them."
Attendees are allowed to bring hand-made signs and balloons. Cameras and handheld video recording devices are permitted. Stroller corrals will be located at both plazas of the venue. Sleep Train Amphitheatre does not allow umbrellas. No outside vendors or solicitors permitted in the parking lots or inside the venue.
The welcome home celebration will provide fans an opportunity to congratulate the team. The Eastlake Little League All-Stars won the U.S. Little League Championship on Saturday, August 24, in a game against Connecticut with a score of 12-1.
