Cigar Advisor Magazine Publishes Article on How to Cure Bad Breath
Easton, PA (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- The all-new Cigar Advisor Magazine is an online cigar magazine that brings a fresh, irreverent, and down-to-earth perspective on all things cigars to thousands of smokers. In addition to educational cigar content and behind-the-scenes cigar industry articles from some of the business’s top names, Cigar Advisor delivers an array of content about a variety of topics of interest to people who enjoy the cigar lifestyle. The magazine also features cigar reviews and ratings submitted by real smokers. Cigar Advisor has just published an update to their Cigars 101 instructional series, discussing “How to Get Rid of Cigar Mouth.”
Written by Executive Editor Gary Korb, his Cigar Advisor article explains the various ways a cigar smoker can stem the tide of a foul-tasting, post-cigar palate. “Having bad breath is bad enough,” he says, “but ‘cigar mouth,’ in which you can still taste the remnants of your cigar can be particularly annoying.”
Gary defines “cigar mouth” as that bitter aftertaste that sometimes presents itself on the palate after smoking a cigar. It’s also referred to as "ashtray breath," and is a result of the oils, smoke, etc., left on a person’s palate after smoking a cigar. “If you plan on smoking several cigars in a row, it pays to cleanse your palate before lighting up your next primo; unlike eating sorbet between dishes during a multi-course meal,” Korb advises.
Though there is no one-size-fits-all cure for cigar mouth, he acknowledges that the tongue scraper is one way to reduce the presence of that aftertaste. But there are others:
“One of the best ways to rid your palate of cigar mouth is to drink a carbonated tonic beverage such as Bitter Lemon. The citric acid in the lemon juice acts as a ‘grease cutter,’ and can remove as much as 90% of the smoky taste.” Other remedies Gary gives include having cheese with the Bitter Lemon, cinnamon ball candy, or simply brushing your teeth and tongue. By following these methods, Korb notes, “Your mouth will not only feel cleaner, but your next cigar will taste better, too.”
