Cigar Advisor Teaches You To Play Baccarat Like James Bond

Although Baccarat appears serious and eloquent (and intimidating to average players), it’s actually as simple to play as betting on a flip of a coin; and, get this, the house edge is one of the lowest in the casino.

The all-new Cigar Advisor Magazine is an online cigar magazine that brings a fresh, irreverent, and down-to-earth perspective on all things cigars to thousands of smokers. In addition to educational cigar content and behind-the-scenes cigar industry articles from some of the business’s top names, Cigar Advisor delivers an array of content about a variety of topics of interest to people who enjoy the cigar lifestyle. The magazine also features cigar reviews and ratings submitted by real smokers. Cigar Advisor has just released an article entitled “Learn The Game Played by James Bond” by Henry Tamburin.

This article is an instructional guide on how to play and perfect Baccarat, the game James Bond frequently plays in the movies. Tamburin writes “Virtually everyone remembers the famous image of secret agent James Bond playing the casino game of baccarat (pronounced bah-cah-rah) in the popular James Bond novels and movies. Although the game appears serious and eloquent (and intimidating to average players), it’s actually as simple to play as betting on a flip of a coin; and, get this, the house edge is one of the lowest in the casino.”

Tamburin also writes about what hands give the house a better chance at winning and what hands may favor the player more so anyone can become an expert Baccarat player. It is also explained how there are three different Baccarat tables used in casinos: larger, full-tables for high rollers that seat 12-14 players, mini-Baccarat tables that are shaped like Blackjack where a main dealer deals the cards, and a midi-Baccarat table which is rectangular and follows the same format of the mini-Baccarat table. However, the same common rules are followed. Tamburin also writes “Baccarat is usually played with eight decks of playing cards. Initially, two cards are dealt to each hand, which are called the Bank hand and the Player hand. The player’s objective is to guess which hand will come closest to nine (i.e., the hand which has a point count closest to nine wins). Note: If the Player and Bank hands have the same point count, all bets on either hand are a push or tie and you neither win nor lose.)”
