Telarus Launches Engineering Program to Bolster Enterprise Sales
Sandy, UT (PRWEB) September 08, 2014 -- Telarus, Inc., distributor of commercial data, voice, and data center services, announced today that it has named Tyler Smith as its VP of Engineering. In his new role, Mr. Smith will lead the Engineering department, a new group the company recently formed to provide carrier-neutral engineering expertise to its base of over 2,000 independent sales partners. Mr. Smith, a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), will be helping Telarus partners architect data center, cloud, SIP, and carrier-neutral/blended MPLS network solutions for their clients.
"The creation of the Engineering Department marks an exciting upgrade in the support we offer our partners," commented David Bashford, President of Telarus. "As our partners work with larger clients who require more sophisticated solutions, it's important that we not only provide access to carrier contracts, but also the ability to design, consult, and provide a level of technical expertise that our partners can leverage to close these deals. Tyler Smith, with his extensive certifications and real-world experience with CenturyLink and Mountain States Engineering, is the ideal person to head up this very important initiative for us."
Tyler Smith takes the reins of the Engineering Department from Patrick Oborn, Telarus Chief Innovation Officer and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), who pioneered the program in April 2014. Since its inception, the Telarus Engineering Department has helped close over $800,000 in new monthly contracts, ranging from International SIP deployments to data center.
"I look forward to taking this program to the next level, and really helping our partners close the 'big fish'," added Tyler Smith, VP of Engineering for Telarus. "My team and I have the ability to make our partners look like heroes to their customers, under their own brand. The larger and more complicated the deal, the more opportunities we'll have to add value through network design review, Visio drawings, carrier selection, and other consulting related to the deployment of large-scale technology infrastructure. I look forward to interfacing with our partner's customers and growing the department in the coming months to ensure we always have capacity to serve our partner's engineering needs."
The Engineering program is part of the new Telarus Partner Benefits program, which grants free engineering hours to partners who achieve the highest levels of aggregate sales volume. New partners, or partners with lower levels of aggregate sales volume, can pay for engineering hours a-la-carte.
