Rural wireless carriers are a key part of the wireless ecosystem in North America, and it is critical that operators be able to design and deploy 5G networks as quickly and cost effectively as possible.

ClearSky Technologies, Inc., a global provider of network analytics and design services for 3G, 4G and 5G networks, announced the availability of new capabilities to help rural carriers streamline the launch of new networks for both mobile and fixed wireless users. The company’s skilled data analysts and RF engineers use the NetView 360 platform to quickly and efficiently deliver optimal designs for 5G networks that are ready to be deployed.

The deployment of 5G networks requires that operators model network performance both indoors and outdoors with very high resolution to determine a design that will provide maximum return on investment. The latest version of NetView 360 simplifies the design process by performing 5G analysis and design on a single platform, producing outputs that can be used to efficiently build the networks needed to meet customer expectations. Another crucial factor in 5G design is gauging the effect of objects (“clutter”) that can block or impede radio signals. Especially at higher frequency bands (3.5 GHz and above), even the effect of trees must be considered or coverage predictions will be highly inaccurate. NetView 360 uses patented methodology to model clutter in high resolution 3D, including tree canopies and walls within every building.

The NetView 360 services have the capability to both design a 5G network to deliver fixed wireless access to replace traditional wired broadband networks and also to create a 5G network plan that will maximize offload of 4G traffic. Fulfilling these projects requires collection and analysis of a large number of data layers, including predictive RF coverage, crowd-sourced data usage, census demographic data, location of backhaul attachment points and more. After these data layers are collected, the NetView 360 team applies the latest statistically methodologies to ensure that all data sets used meet high standards of statistical validity.
