In September, leading SaaS supply chain planning and analytics provider Blue Ridge hosted its 6th annual BLUEPrint conference at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia. The conference enabled supply chain professionals of all industries to engage, discuss, and promote best practice demand forecasting, planning and inventory replenishment strategies in order to increase bottom-line value and improve efficiency.

The replenishment team at one Ben E. Keith branch experienced immediate results following the BLUEPrint conference. Chris Knollmeyer, Category Manager of Ben E. Keith’s Mid-South branch, set a goal to reduce inventory by $1 million. “At the start of the year, we managed $18.1 million in inventory. Today, we have $16.9 million, while achieving a fill-rate above 99 percent,” stated Knollmeyer. “We have filled our orders above our fill-rate goal, and while doing that reduced inventory by $1.2 million.”

This year’s conference included speakers from industry leading companies such as Henry Schein, Ben E. Keith, and N.B. Handy. These speakers were able to share their success stories and discuss how they were able to overcome obstacles. Just a few of the challenges they faced included reducing inventory, increasing service levels and improving margins.
