“We are excited to be part of CES such a groundbreaking program that will hopefully lead to improved patient outcomes.” - Jan Perez, managing partner, CME Outfitters.
BETHESDA, Md. (PRWEB) January 10, 2019
CME Outfitters (CMEO) is excited to be part of the 2019 Consumer Electronics Showcase (CES) as the accredited provider for the showcase’s inaugural medical education track, “Disruptive Innovations in Healthcare.” The CES website describes this annual event as “the world's gathering place for all those who thrive on the business of consumer technologies,” and is taking place January 8-11, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV.
While the showcase has featured innovations in healthcare in years past, this is the first time continuing medical education credit has been offered to physicians attending the meeting. Topics such as the positive impact of digital therapeutics, FDA-approved apps that treat chronic conditions, the effect of remote patient monitoring and virtual care, and the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve healthcare will be a part of this program.
“This is quite a milestone for CES – and for CME Outfitters” said Whitney Faler, Director of Accreditation and Outcomes at CMEO. “This is the first time our organizations have partnered to produce continuing medical education around digital health as part of this legendary show. We are also proud to have the American Heart Association leading education on digital health innovations in wearables and heart rate monitoring.”
Executive vice president of CES, Karen Chupka, discussed the growing presence of digital health at the event: “Digital Health has become a key part of CES, showcasing life-changing technologies that address real-world issues like opioid dependence, mental illness, chronic disease and more. The discussions and hands-on opportunity to experience the full digital health ecosystem from AI, digital therapeutics and predictive analytics – makes CES 2019 a can’t miss event for the healthcare community.”
“CME Outfitters has made a commitment to providing education that integrates digital health,” said Jan Perez, managing partner of CMEO. “We are excited to be part of CES such a groundbreaking program that will hopefully lead to improved patient outcomes.”
