CNS’ Oceanview Hospital Receives Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval
Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) September 24, 2014 -- CNS proudly announces that their Oceanview Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® by demonstrating compliance with national standards for health care quality and safety. This accreditation recognizes Oceanview’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards. This is in addition to the robust standards already in place to fulfill California state licensing requirements.
Oceanview underwent a rigorous unannounced on-site survey in July 2014. A team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated the hospital for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients including: medication management, national patient safety goals, provision of care, and life safety.
"In achieving Joint Commission accreditation, Oceanview has demonstrated its commitment to the highest level of care for its patients," says Mark G. Pelletier, R.N., M.S., chief operating officer, Division of Accreditation and Certification Operations, The Joint Commission. “Accreditation is a voluntary process and I commend Oceanview for successfully undertaking this challenge to elevate its standard of care and instill confidence in the community it serves.”
Dalia Botros, Oceanview Administrator states, “We recognized a need in our community and actively responded to make a difference. Oceanview is unique in that we have an innovative unit design and utilize evidence based treatment practices. We are able to provide a significantly enhanced patient experience and improved clinical outcomes.” CEO Dr. David Walling adds, “Achieving Joint Commission accreditation is a major step toward maintaining excellence and continually improving the care we provide our community.”
The Joint Commission addresses important functions relating to patient care and hospital management. Their standards are developed in consultation with health care experts, providers, measurement experts and patients. This prestigious accreditation is effective as of August 18th, 2014 and will be up for renewal in 2017.
