StayLinked Corporation, the leader in modern Terminal Emulation solutions, and Cognex Corporation (NASDAQ: CGNX), the leader in machine vision and industrial barcode reading, announced today that they are now working together to offer StayLinked software on Cognex’s series of mobile solutions, featuring the MX-1000 and MX-1502 Series vision-enabled mobile terminals for rugged environments.
The unique architecture of StayLinked Terminal Emulation connects mobile devices to host-based applications such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in a very reliable, secure, and high-performance manner. StayLinked SmartTE delivers the best possible user experience on touch-only devices allowing workers to utilize the entire screen, without sacrificing usability for the sake of screen space. Customers retain all their application's functionality, which enables seamless migration to Android and to new state-of-the-art Cognex mobile terminals without ever having to touch the host application.
"We are proud to partner with Cognex and help expedite market migration to the Android operating system on touch-only devices," said StayLinked President, Dan Hogan. "Using StayLinked on these devices enables customers to migrate and modernize their Terminal Emulation applications and, with StayLinked iQ, gain deeper insights into their business processes.”
Equipped with smart barcode reading algorithms and optics, the Cognex MX-1502 quickly adjusts between standard-, long-, and extended-range scanning to reliably decode 1D, 2D, and direct part mark (DPM) codes from as near as 15 centimeters to as far away as 10 meters. Like the MX-1000, the MX-1502 mobile terminal offers a modular, rugged design that supports iOS® and Android® devices and can be used in even the most challenging warehouse and factory floor environments.
“Cognex is committed to developing innovative mobile solutions for our customers’ 1D and 2D barcode reading challenges,” said Bryan Boatner, Director of Sales and Product Marketing, ID Mobile. “With our full range of mobile scanning solutions, Cognex is uniquely positioned to help businesses leverage the latest mobile device technology to increase productivity and reduce costs. StayLinked gives our customers the ability to realize these goals using Cognex mobile solutions while leveraging their existing host applications.”
With the introduction of host-based, thin client emulation in 2002, StayLinked Terminal Emulation changed the landscape of wireless host-based application delivery and stability. The company has continued to drive innovation with true software-only emulation session persistence; centralized session configuration, control, and management of wireless emulation sessions (Telnet/SSH); terminal emulation application modernization (SmartTE), and the only Business Intelligence product designed for terminal emulation environments (StayLinked iQ). StayLinked software is available for all popular mobile devices from those running traditional operating systems such as DOS, CE, and Windows Mobile to the latest versions of iOS and Android.
