River Runners, a whitewater rafting company on the Arkansas River, offers 15 percent Colorado rafting discount on half-day and full-day trips booked for Saturday, July 13, 2013.

The purpose of this limited-time promotion is to encourage people to get out rafting in Colorado, according to Travis Hochard, operations manager, River Runners.

"A lot of Colorado visitors are unsure about whitewater rafting, because it is an unfamiliar activity for many of them," Hochard explained. "We hope this promotion will encourage people to give rafting a try or come back for more."

This discount can be used for any family rafting trip through the Browns Canyon and the Bighorn Sheep Canyon or any advanced rafting trip through the Royal Gorge or the Numbers, according to Hochard.

"Flows on the Arkansas River have dropped since peak runoff in June, but we are maintaining steady water levels that offer great experiences for family and adventure class whitewater rafting trips," Hochard explained.

River Runners operates two outposts for rafting near Colorado Springs and Denver: the River Runners Royal Gorge Rafting Center in Canon City, Colo.; and the River Runners Riverside Rafting Resort in Buena Vista, Colo., according to Hochard.
