2015 Healthy Churches 2020 Host was Former NBA Star Earl “the Pearl” Monroe - Earl Keeps in Shape at “Complete Wellness”
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 10, 2015 -- What do the NBA, physical medicine and a doctor of chiropractic all have in common? How about former NBA Rookie of the Year and two-time all-American Earl “the Pearl” Monroe? Even off-the-court and in retirement, it turns out that the basketball legend has found a way to keep in shape. His number may have been retired by the Baltimore Bullets and the New York Knicks, but his resolve to be healthy and fit is as strong as ever, assisted by his visits to see Dr Daniel Fenster, Chiropractor and Clinic Director of Complete Wellness in NYC.
This year’s Healthy Churches 2020 host was former NBA star Earl “the Pearl” Monroe. The Conference was Nov. 4 to 6 at the Hilton Charlotte University Place in Charlotte, N.C. The three-day national event brought together faith leaders, health directors, doctors, nurses and members of congregational-based health ministries.
Though this legendary college and professional basketball athlete can be seen on YouTube with numerous clips of his unparalleled on-court skill, seldom have his off-court life and habits been the focus of any observation or report. Clearly, however, skill is dependent on physical agility which depends on being in top physical shape. This is something which has not changed with Monroe in the ensuing years beyond his explosive career.
The fact that Monroe swears by visiting his chiropractor has little to do with chiropractic itself, but more what this particular doctor has done to create a multi-disciplinary approach, one apparently more conducive to athletes in general, catering to their specific needs.
According to their website, “Complete Wellness is a full-service, comprehensive wellness center dedicated to specialized, non-invasive, and rehabilitative medicine.” They do not only provide sports medicine. Among services offered are also injury rehabilitation, spinal traction, trigger point therapy, acupuncture and several more, even including yoga. Specifically-related to treating the likes of Earl “the Pearl” Monroe, they also report they are “committed to treating patients in every stage of life, the Complete Wellness team treats patients with a unified synergy of multiple providers and services.”
Monroe spent his career doing amazing things on the court. In retirement he is very involved in other activities such as having kept active in many community activities. His legend precedes him even being referenced in the Spike Lee Film “He Got Game” in a scene in which Denzel Washington’s character tells his son a story about him. Clearly Monroe puts his all into making the most out of all areas of his life, including his own personal wellness and is a vibrant contributor to all of his endeavors.
Dr. Fenster and his team at Complete Wellness are located at 30 E 60th St in Manhattan and care for patients of all walks of life from athletes to office workers and from young to elderly, with an integrative holistic approach.
