Conalvias wins 185 Million Dollar Contract in Panama

On October 23, 2013 Panama’s public work department (Ministerio de Obras Publicas de Panama) awarded Conalvias Construction Company a contract for a project worth approximately 185 million dollars.

“These two important projects help fortify the efforts of Conalvias Constructions within the international market,” concluded Andres Jaramillo Lopez.

The new contract culminates the research, design, construction, funding and maintenance of the recovery and expansion work on the panamerican road. The project calls for an extension of 39.79 km throughout San Juan - La Pita within a 3 year execution period from December 2013 to December 2016.

“It’s a true accomplishment for Conalvias to continue participating in great infrastructure works in Panama that improves the mobility of a vital artery of such magnitude as the panamerican road; it also offers to the community and the country commercial advantages by reducing the cost of commercial traveling among regions,” said Andres Jaramillo Lopez, Conalvias CEO.

In addition, the Panamá Canal Authority (Autoridad del Canal de Panamá) awarded Conalvias Construction with a $16 million contract for erosion control in the Mamei curve in Gatun Lake, located in the Panamá province. The erosion project includes the construction of an intransitive coated with a protective rockfill.
