August Brings Growth and Changes to Georgia Military College
Martinez, GA (PRWEB) September 01, 2013 -- August is the time when everyone begins gearing up for ‘back to school’. Georgia Military College’s Augusta campus is no different. Fall I Quarter kicked off on August 3 for Saturday students and on Monday, August 5 for the rest of the student body.
The exciting news about the Augusta campus is that enrollment has grown by 14 percent from this time last year. While some colleges are reporting declines in enrollment and significant increases in tuition rates, Georgia Military College is expanding! In addition to beating enrollment from last year, it also exceeded the enrollment goal set for the campus by almost 12 percent. Georgia Military College attributes this growth to improvements made in the way it delivers customer service to potential students, changes to its processes, and to the energetic staff members it has hired in the last year.
In addition to the growth that Georgia Military College’s Augusta campus is experiencing, it is making necessary changes to address the needs of the students on campus. Although it has Columbia County Sheriff’s patrolling its parking lots, it now has two security officers to patrol campus buildings and grounds. Georgia Military College want to ensure its students are safe and feel comfortable while they are here.
Finally, Georgia Military College’s Augusta campus became tobacco free as of August 1. During this adjustment period, the college is providing smoking cessation information to students and encouraging them to quit smoking. Georgia Military College wants its students, faculty, and staff to make healthier choices, particularly when it affects others around them.
