American Contractors Organization’s New Verified Contractor Directory Helps Homeowners & General Contractors Safely Hire Pre-Screened Contractors & Sub-Contractors
Portland, OR (PRWEB) May 27, 2016 -- The American Contractors Organization (ACO), which delivers expert-built safety training programs and quality-assured product solutions to contractors and construction firms across the country, announced today the launch of a national verified Contractor Directory that allows homeowners and general contractors to safely hire pre-screened contractors and sub-contractors, respectively.
Through the ACO’s trusted Contractor Directory, which can be accessed at http://www.directoryforcontractors.org, homeowners and general contractors can view confirmed details regarding professional contractors in their area including:
• Full legal contractor/company name
• Address and contact information (phone, email, web)
• Insurance coverage limits
• Business license number (where applicable)
In addition, each contractor listed in the new verified Contractor Directory has undergone and passed a criminal background check, and ACO has also committed to re-check contractors on an annual basis. Contractors who fail to meet all compliance criteria (e.g. insurance lapse, license expiration, etc.) will be removed until their issues are resolved, and contractors found to have a criminal record will not be included in the directory.
“When choosing a contractor, most homeowners don’t verify crucial information, because they don’t know what to look for, where to start, or are simply afraid to ask,” commented Cecilia DeLaRosa, the ACO’s Principal and Director. “Our new Contractor Directory empowers homeowners with a reliable, completely transparent search solution that uses actual insurance and verification data, so they can make a safe hiring decision.”
“Our game-changing Contractor Directory is a huge win for contractors and homeowners,” commented Charlie Furst, the ACO’s Director of Education and Marketing, whose organization has an extensive background in construction safety, commercial insurance, and risk management. “It levels the playing field so that small to midsize contractors, including homebuilders, remodelers, painters, HVAC repair, roofers, and other professional contractors can affordably and effectively connect with prospective clients.”
Contractors who wish to be listed in the ACO’s new verified Contractor Directory are invited to register by visiting http://www.americancontractorsorganization.org, or by contacting Charlie Furst at Charlie(at)contractorsorganization(dot)com.
