New Yoga Studio in the Heart of Brookline Offers Classes for Every Age and Ability
Brookline, MA (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- Coolidge Corner Yoga, a full-service yoga studio built by Brookline residents for Brookline residents, announced that it will open its doors on September 29, 2013. As part of its Grand Opening week, from September 29 to October 5, Coolidge Corner Yoga will allow anyone to take two free yoga classes selected from its full lineup of adult, teen, child, and prenatal offerings. All new members of the studio can take advantage of an ongoing promotion – 30 days of yoga for $30.
Coolidge Corner Yoga is the brainchild of Dr. Tatyana Souza, a former senior research scientist at Pfizer. After completing her PhD in Immunology in 2006, Tatyana worked at Pfizer for six years trying to push forward drug research to help people through modern medicine. During that time Tatyana also discovered the magic of yoga as a manifestation of traditional medicine when she stumbled into a Forrest yoga class while newly pregnant with her first child. From that moment she became a dedicated practitioner, seeking her yoga mat not only for a full body workout but also for stress relief and mind/body awareness. As a scientist Tatyana realized that yoga offers much more than a physical workout to the practitioner, and that modern medicine and traditional health practices can coexist to offer complementary, powerful benefits.
The core belief at Coolidge Corner Yoga is that the practice of yoga can silence mental stressors by directing focus into challenging the body, leading to a calmer, more connected state and allowing practitioners to “feel good, do good” – the studio’s mantra. Coolidge Corner Yoga plans to donate half of its annual profits to worthy causes, causes that will be determined by a community vote.
A cornerstone of Coolidge Corner Yoga will be nurturing families and helping parents embrace a yoga practice by giving them built-in childcare options. Adult Vinyasa yoga classes will be taught in parallel with kids’ yoga classes (combining light yoga with fun games) in the late weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings so that parents and their children can all attend yoga at the same time. Coolidge Corner Yoga’s teachers will offer classes for every age group – from prenatal yoga to “Mommy and Me” classes, teen yoga, and yoga for adults – and every ability – from beginner classes to advanced practice.
Coolidge Corner Yoga is located at 1297 Beacon Street in the heart of vibrant Coolidge Corner in Brookline, Massachusetts. For more information, please visit: http://www.coolidgeyoga.com/
About Coolidge Corner Yoga:
Coolidge Corner Yoga aims to provide a nurturing space where the Brookline and surrounding communities can practice yoga: young to old and novice to seasoned yogi. Through the physical practice of yoga, individuals will be granted the opportunity to slow down the mind by challenging the body. Through this and through focusing on breath we will experience being fully present in the moment. We hope each student leaves with a clear mind, a toned body, and an overall sense of well-being. It is our core belief that by practicing yoga and taking the time to nourish ourselves inside and out, we will lead healthier, happier lives. When we are nourished, we will also be better versions of ourselves for our family, friends and neighbors. In turn we will create a happy and healthy community that is ready and willing to make changes for a better world. Feel good, do good.
At Coolidge Corner Yoga we are committed to making a difference for a better world. It is our intention to donate half of our profits to worthy causes. Each year, we as a community will vote and decide which cause(s) is most important for us to support. Thus, at Coolidge Corner Yoga, we will not only improve our bodies and daily lives through the practice of yoga, but we will also be aiming to make a positive impact on the world around us over time.
