Core Spaces, a Chicago-based real estate development and management firm well known for its innovative student housing communities and other luxury residences, has reached a major milestone in the construction of The James in a popular, historic area of downtown Madison.
Core Spaces executives announced that construction of the new, world-class residence is ahead of schedule and celebrated by placing the last yard of structural concrete on the roof deck of the 12-story, 366-unit building.
The James includes two residential wings and numerous community/lifestyle areas that feature a wide variety of high-end, high-tech finishes and amenities. The James also was designed to pay homage to the area’s rich history, company officials say.

The James, 432 Gorham St., is being developed in the heart of the downtown area with easy access to nearby restaurants, shops, nightlife, and cultural and recreational attractions and just steps from the University of Wisconsin campus and the Wisconsin State Capital.
