Corporate Forum President Beth Kurth Serves as Organizer for MIT Sloan CFO Summit Held This November
Boston, MA (PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- Beth Kurth, President of Corporate Forum, recently served on the organizing team for the MIT Sloan CFO Summit, themed "The Future Forward CFO." The Summit, which attracted more than 600 financial executives, was held at the Boston Marriott Newton on November 20.
Kurth’s focus and duties as Communications Organizer included collaborating to help plan the agenda, managing social media outreach for the event and overseeing the hard copy program book.
Kurth says that she was compelled to volunteer for the event because she is committed to good governance, corporate growth and "future forward thinking" which was this year's theme. The opportunity to be involved in the initial planning and ongoing communications and operations was one "I just could not pass up."
The one-day conference, which attracted more than 600 financial executives, was organized and orchestrated by volunteers. With a focus on high quality content and a best-in-class audience, the event sold out four days in advance. The Summit took eight months to plan and tickets first went on sale over the summer.
“It is extremely rewarding to have had the opportunity to bring together so many talented CFOs and to hear their thoughts on strategies for success,” said Kurth. “I’m honored to have been part of such a productive, well-attended event that offered so many insights into business success.”
The theme of the Summit was “The Future Forward CFO,” which undertook to explore the role of the CFO as a leader in the growth of business. Speakers at the MIT Sloan CFO Summit are typically faculty from MIT and financial executives from all industries, company sizes and geographic locations. The topics on this year's agenda included insight through sessions including the intersection of finance and communications; the way companies evolve through mergers and acquisitions; how best to manage digital data; the role of key performance indicators; and managing inflection points.
