Healthcare Tech M&A Consolidation Waves to Continue through 2014, Corum Group Projects
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 20, 2013 -- The ongoing consolidation wave in healthcare software and IT, driven by significant regulatory, technological and social change, shows no sign of stopping, according to leading technology M&A firm Corum Group. The company will detail its findings as part of "A Healthy Market: M&A for Healthcare Software and Technology," a webcast hosted by World Financial Symposiums on September 24, 2013 at 1 PM Eastern Time.
“The entire health IT sector is being impacted by these broad changes, but we’re seeing multiple, interdependent consolidation waves come through individual markets within it,” noted Corum Vice President and Director of Research Elon Gasper. “Buyers’ reasons for acquiring companies are changing, and software companies should be considering the new synergies creating the partnerships that will be successful through this tumultuous era in healthcare.”
During the 45-minute webinar, Gasper will be joined by Corum Director Ed Ossie, who will moderate the webcast and lead a discussion between healthcare technology experts sharing their perspectives on healthcare trends and opportunities.
Joining Ossie will be two recent sellers, Teresa Chase, President and CEO at American HealthTech (AHT), acquired by Healthland in May and Spencer Kay, Founder of Fastrack Healthcare Systems, acquired by Mediware Information Systems in June. Also on the panel is Rob Schram, Regional Director at Corum Group and a veteran of healthcare technology M&A. Both Fastrack and AHT were represented by Corum, and Schram personally led the Fastrack acquisition process, as well as the sale of practice management provider Data Strategies to Integrated Solutions Group in July, the third of Corums’ three healthcare transactions so far this year.
This Healthcare Market Spotlight marks the fifth Market Spotlight webcast of 2013 for WFS. Previous webcasts focused on M&A activity in the Big Data, Social Marketing, and regional spotlights in China and Latin America.
WFS will continue to educate at its flagship conference, Growth and Exit Strategies for Software and IT Companies, being held in Silicon Valley on November 7th, 2013. Hosted at the Network Meeting Center, attendees can expect a full-day of insights from major buyers, private equity investors, venture capitalists, angel investors, analysts and other CEOs who have recently sold.
