Costa Rica has become somewhat of a playground for travelers seeking peace and quiet - a place where you can see the stars and hear the birds.

Tamarindo, Costa Rica (PRWEB) September 20, 2013

Costa Rica Vacations (CRV), a leading online travel agency, responded to a recent report published by renowned consumer research company SDL on travelers seeking digital detoxification.

"We concur with the findings of this recent SDL study in that more and more travelers to Costa Rica are expressing their desire to digitally detoxify during their vacation. As a result, we are seeing more hotels and resorts without TV's," stated founding partner of CRV, Don Halbert.

The results of the study were the based on the responses from over 4,000 travelers from around the world including the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.

Although more than 60% of Americans "unplug" while on vacation, ironically a staggering 84% will book their vacation packages online.

Costa Rica has long been a place of peace and tranquility. A place designed by Mother Nature herself to break-free and detoxify the senses.

The SDL report also displayed the need for mobile travel-related apps like navigation and travel advise with 75% of US travelers utilizing them while on holidays.

"Don't kid yourself - a digital detoxification process can be just as difficult as any other dependency like alcohol and drugs. There are people that suffer the exact same withdrawals when suddenly they find themselves cut-off from the digital world," added Don Halbert.

"Furthermore, I believe that we all need moments away from the computer in order to slow down a little and enjoy the finer moments in life that become awash in a society so dependent on the Internet. This is why Costa Rica has become somewhat of a playground for travelers seeking peace and quiet - a place where you can see the stars and hear the birds," said Halbert.

Internal reports coming out of the sales department at CRV show this rising trend that appears to echo the study by SDL in that more travelers from around the world are disconnecting.

Costa Rica has become well known for it's adventuresome demeanor. It is here that one can enjoy flying down a zip-line amongst the rain forest canopy, scaling an active volcano or even white-water rafting. The country is chalk full of activities to keep the heart strong. However, if lounging on the beach is your thing, then Costa Rica has some of the finest beaches in Latin America.
