Crumbs & Whiskers Announces Nation's First Kitten Lounge
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) January 17, 2019 -- Here kitty, kitty, kitty. In response to overwhelming public demand, the first kitten lounge in the United States will debut in Washington, D.C.’s historic Georgetown neighborhood. This new kitty-cuddle experience allows visitors to rest, relax and interact with the cutest of all creatures, with the goal of initiating as many as 500 kitten adoptions. The pop-up Kitten Lounge, which opens on M (for Meow) Street in early March, is from the same team behind Crumbs & Whiskers, the groundbreaking cat cafe, with locations in D.C. and Los Angeles, California.

Paws-itively Adorable:
The Kitten Lounge will feature baby kittens ages three-to-six months, provided in partnership with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, a local nonprofit. All of the kittens fostered in The Kitten Lounge are adoptable (and adorable), but visitors are able to enjoy the experience without the obligation of adoption. The Lounge will be located at 3109 M St NW, and will be open six days a week. It’s in response to continued requests by visitors to the original Crumbs & Whiskers locations, where visitors get to mingle with adult cats.
Purr-fect Cause:
Kitten season is upon us. While it may sound nice, it’s actually a time of year when an influx of stray kittens overloads animal shelters nationwide. While some are prepared, many shelters cannot handle the costs and responsibilities of caring for so many kittens. Every year, nearly one million cats are euthanized in shelters due to lack of space. By serving as sort of a foster home where kittens and people can interact, The Kitten Lounge hopes to save up to 500 kittens during the next four months.

No kitten around, there’s a waiting list to book a reservation. Sessions are expected to go quickly. Sign ups are now live at the Crumbs & Whiskers website, with booking preference going to those on the list, then to the general public.
